Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as executive chef or similar role
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in administration and management of food service systems
  • Ability to adhere to guidelines and policies
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Commitment to hospitality and senior care values

Job Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts program preferred
  • Successful completion of recognized food safety course
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as executive chef, chef in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar employment
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in administration and management of food service systems
  • Senior living community experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive, professional, and upscale culinary services program
  • Supervise the Culinary Services Department including hiring, training, appraising performance, and disciplining employees
  • Research, plan, develop, produce, and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
  • Meet or exceed established budgetary and financial guidelines
  • Perform hands-on cooking, serving, and dishwashing as necessary
  • Ensure professional, trained, properly uniformed, and talented staff
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance
  • Support creating a culture where business decisions and employee engagement drive revenue and occupancy
