Job Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree
- Successful completion of recognized food safety course
- Minimum of five years’ experience as executive chef or similar role
- Minimum of three years’ experience in administration and management of food service systems
- Ability to adhere to guidelines and policies
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Commitment to hospitality and senior care values
Job Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts program preferred
- Successful completion of recognized food safety course
- Minimum of five years’ experience as executive chef, chef in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar employment
- Minimum of three years’ experience in administration and management of food service systems
- Senior living community experience preferred
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive, professional, and upscale culinary services program
- Supervise the Culinary Services Department including hiring, training, appraising performance, and disciplining employees
- Research, plan, develop, produce, and serve menu cycle programs compliant with nutritional and dietary criteria
- Meet or exceed established budgetary and financial guidelines
- Perform hands-on cooking, serving, and dishwashing as necessary
- Ensure professional, trained, properly uniformed, and talented staff
- Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance
- Support creating a culture where business decisions and employee engagement drive revenue and occupancy
