Pomperaug Woods is a distinguished senior living community committed to providing an exceptional lifestyle for its residents. As a leader in the senior living industry, Pomperaug Woods focuses not only on delivering superior care and services but also on creating a warm, welcoming environment where residents feel valued and supported. This community places great emphasis on hospitality, ensuring every interaction is personalized and meaningful, enhancing the overall experience of those who call Pomperaug Woods home. Dedicated to investing in the future of senior living, Pomperaug Woods also invests in its employees, offering opportunities for professional growth and a chance to be part of a mission-driven organization that values dedication, compassion, and excellence. At Pomperaug Woods, employees don’t just have a job — they are part of an extraordinary life, shaping the stories of some of the wisest and most inspiring people on earth.
Pomperaug Woods is currently seeking a hospitality-focused Director of Culinary Services to join their dynamic team. This full-scope, hands-on leadership role is pivotal in maintaining and elevating the quality of the community’s culinary services. As the Director of Culinary Services, you will oversee the entire Culinary Services Department, ensuring a superior level of quality, service, and cleanliness is consistently achieved. You will be a key member of the community’s management team, adhering closely to policies and procedures while living the community’s mission, philosophy, and values. Your work will directly impact resident satisfaction and contribute to the overall success and positive culture of Pomperaug Woods.
The Director of Culinary Services is entrusted with creating and maintaining an exceptional culinary program that delivers a positive and upscale dining experience. This includes research, planning, and development of menu cycle programs that comply with nutritional and dietary requirements, ensuring residents receive meals that are both delicious and healthy. You will supervise the culinary team, providing leadership and support in hiring, training, performance appraisal, and day-to-day operations. Financial management responsibilities include meeting or exceeding budgetary and financial guidelines to ensure operational efficiency. This role also involves being hands-on when necessary, including cooking, serving, and dishwashing, to maintain high standards and team cohesion.
Additionally, you will regularly visit residents to evaluate food service quality, quantity, temperature, and presentation, making any necessary adjustments to enhance the dining experience. Supporting a culture that promotes business decisions driving top-line revenue and occupancy is another essential function, highlighting the importance of blending hospitality excellence with operational effectiveness.
Pomperaug Woods prides itself on embracing a hospitality culture that values respectful and warm interactions. Team members are encouraged to greet everyone by name, anticipate needs, respond enthusiastically, and maintain professionalism at all times. The community values attention to detail, accountability, and inclusivity and aims to ensure every resident, employee, and guest feels important and cared for. If you are a compassionate, enthusiastic senior care professional passionate about hospitality and senior engagement, Pomperaug Woods offers a welcoming environment where your skills and dedication will be truly appreciated and nurtured.
