Job Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor degree
  • Completion of recognized food safety course
  • Minimum of five years experience as executive chef or chef in hotel, restaurant, or similar
  • Minimum of three years experience in administration and management of food service systems
  • Ability to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Commitment to hospitality and senior care culture

Job Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in culinary arts preferred
  • Successful completion of a recognized food safety course
  • Minimum of five years experience as executive chef or chef in a similar environment
  • Minimum of three years experience in administration and management of food service systems
  • Senior living community experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive culinary services program to create a positive experience for all customers
  • Supervise the Culinary Services Department including hiring, assigning, and appraising employees
  • Plan, develop, and serve menus compliant with nutritional and dietary regulations
  • Meet or exceed established budgetary and financial guidelines
  • Perform hands-on cooking, serving, and dishwashing as needed
  • Ensure the staff is professional, trained, properly uniformed, and talented
  • Visit residents periodically to evaluate and improve food service quality and procedures
