Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • one to four years related experience or training
  • ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
  • ability to manage financial and accounting concepts
  • ability to perform physical duties including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • ability to follow safety and dress code policies
  • ability to handle crises calmly and effectively
  • must be able to supervise multiple employees and subordinate supervisors
  • availability to work in environments with temperature extremes and exposure to kitchen equipment and chemicals

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or one to four years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports
  • ability to implement safety policies and procedures
  • effective communication skills in person, telephone and writing
  • ability to write speeches and articles conforming to style and format
  • ability to present information to customers, management, and public groups
  • knowledge of accounting concepts including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable and receivable
  • ability to define problems, collect data, draw conclusions and develop solutions
  • franchise specific certification

Job Duties

  • Estimate food and beverage costs and requisitions or purchases supplies
  • confer with food preparation and other personnel to plan menus and related activities
  • prepare cost estimates for menus, banquets, buffets, and salad bars
  • perform product margin analysis to ensure profitability
  • maintain and train employees on proper cash handling policies
  • ensure schedules are prepared fairly and within budget
  • inspect food and food preparation to maintain quality and sanitation standards
  • investigate and resolve food quality and service complaints
  • communicate maintenance and housekeeping needs appropriately
  • supervise inventory procedures for food, liquor, linen, china, and glassware
  • project and plan future supply needs and place orders
  • review financial transactions and monitor budget to ensure efficient operation
  • develop and conduct training programs for employees on company policies
  • participate in creating effective marketing programs for the Food and Beverage department
