The environment at Monterey Embassy Suites is shaped by a strong culture of service, perseverance, inclusion, respect, innovation, and teamwork, elements that define the Atrium SPIRIT. This culture fosters an engaging work atmosphere where employees are empowered to thrive and make a meaningful impact.
This part-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $18.90, with the actual pay depending on the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and the specific role location. The hotel emphasizes career growth and learning opportunities, with approximately 40% of its management hires being internal promotions, reflecting its dedication to investing in employees' futures. Comprehensive benefits support employees’ well-being and work-life balance, including medical, dental, and vision insurance options, a 401(k) plan with company matching, paid time off and vacation, wellness programs, tuition reimbursement, and exclusive discounts. Additionally, employees have access to unique perks such as the Atrium Traveler program, facilitating new travel experiences and community service initiatives that enable staff to give back meaningfully.
In this role, team members are pivotal in setting the stage for outstanding guest experiences by managing the complimentary breakfast and evening reception areas. Staff are responsible for preparing, presenting, and maintaining the food service areas to ensure they are inviting, cleaned, and well-stocked. The position demands a friendly, service-oriented attitude to greet guests courteously, respond to inquiries, and resolve concerns efficiently and professionally. It involves a variety of tasks, including light food preparation, restocking, bussing tables, and supporting bar service as needed, all while adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation standards.
The ideal candidate will monitor food quality, storage, and temperature throughout their shifts, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies. Working collaboratively as a cohesive team is essential to maintain smooth operations and deliver seamless service. Effective communication during shift changes is also crucial to keep all team members aligned with up-to-the-minute information about service needs and guest requirements. Throughout, employees must comply with all safety, security, and organizational standards, reporting any issues promptly.
This position welcomes applicants with or without prior experience, emphasizing a positive attitude and a passion for teamwork as the foundation. Preferred candidates will have some background in restaurant work, customer service, or cashier roles, along with Food Safety and Alcohol Awareness certifications or willingness to obtain these certifications within sixty days of employment. The job requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds during shifts, and offers flexible scheduling to accommodate days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Monterey Embassy Suites prides itself on being an Equal Opportunity Employer, supporting diversity and inclusion across all facets of employment and fostering a family-like work environment that values every team member’s contribution.
