The role available at Loretto is focused on supporting daily operations at one of its sites, primarily within housekeeping and dining services. Employees in this position are responsible for cleaning and maintaining various facility areas including resident apartments, common living spaces, recreational areas, offices, bathrooms, and entryways. Tasks encompass a broad set of housekeeping duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, waxing, disinfecting surfaces, handling linens, organizing storage areas, and managing waste disposal in compliance with recycling and medical waste guidelines. Additionally, dining services responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen and dining areas, managing dishwashing processes, delivering room service trays, assisting with serving and event setup, and inventory handling related to deliveries and supplies.

The position demands a high level of safety awareness, requiring the use of appropriate cleaning agents, setting up safety signage, and adhering to universal precautions and isolation procedures. Job Duties

  • maintains the facility and the environment in a clean, safe and orderly manner for resident comfort and convenience
  • cleans furnishings, fixtures, windows, mirrors, appliances and heating/cooling units in resident apartments and common areas
  • cleans floors and carpets by vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing and disinfecting
  • organizes closets and drawers as needed
  • makes beds and straightens residents' apartments
  • handles clean and dirty linen appropriately
  • sets up safety signs prior to cleaning
  • uses proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions and stores them per policy
  • disposes of waste into proper containers and relines liners
  • maintains dining area and kitchen cleanliness
  • loads and unloads dishes into/from wash machines
  • inspects and stores cleaned dishware
  • discards old food per policy
  • cleans microwave and other appliances after use
  • stores cleaned items properly
  • delivers room service trays
  • retrieves dining services deliveries and stores supplies
  • accompanies vendors for deliveries
  • assists with serving duties when required
  • cleans dining room including tables, chairs and floors
  • assists with special event setups and takedowns
  • reports unsafe or hazardous conditions to supervisor
  • replenishes supplies in assigned areas regularly
  • follows cleaning schedules
  • ensures work areas are free of hazards
  • observes all safety precautions
  • provides excellent customer service in all interactions
