The university is currently seeking a dedicated full-time Front of House (FOH) Team Lead to join its food service team. The position operates primarily Tuesday through Saturday, from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM, and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19.00 to $21.00. This role is essential in enhancing the food service experience, focusing heavily on leadership, customer service, and operational efficiency within the dining facilities.
The FOH Team Lead will play a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the daily activities of the front-of-house food service employees, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for all customers, staff, and visitors. The individual will be responsible for supervising meal service, managing staff schedules, and maintaining food quality and safety standards in line with both company policies and government regulations. This leadership position requires a balance of hands-on service, employee training, and administrative duties such as cash handling, inventory management, and reporting. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior leadership experience in food service preferred
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday evenings from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle customer complaints professionally
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to handle cash accurately and responsibly

Job Duties
- Provides quality customer service by providing one-on-one attention to detail
- Oversees and participates in the preparation and service of food and beverage items in accordance with company standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control
- Helps plan menus
- Ensures timely, efficient meal service
- supervises serving of meals
- Responds to customer complaints in person at the time of the complaint and via email for electronic complaints
- Trains employees
- assigns and coordinates work of employees to promote efficiency and excellence in food and service
- Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites work flow
- Uses proper systems for completion of required daily/weekly/monthly reports such as inventory-cash reports-production records, payroll and time-keeping
- Responsible for proper cash handling as established by the Food Accounting Manual (deposits - petty cash - change funds)
- Orders food and other necessary supplies from approved sources or purveyors
- Directs and participates in the overall sanitation and safety of the facility and employees in accordance with company standards and government regulations
- Develops sanitation schedule and ensures food-service employees adhere to the schedule for cleaning of kitchen and dining area and washing of kitchen utensils and equipment
- Issues written and oral instructions
- Help select and orient employees
- oversees staff training in areas of responsibility
- Performs other duties as assigned
