Job Duties

Greet guests promptly and warmly
anticipate business levels and perform accordingly
set the example of excellence in standards to other staff at all times
efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections, use guest names wherever possible, and be aware if they are celebrating a special occasion
promote the restaurants, wines, tasting room, wine club and know about upcoming events on property
ensure the front-of-house looks presentable to the guest
describe the selection of food and beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting and vivid descriptions to drive sales
provide each item’s taste, origin, and preparation methods
perform clean-up and closing duties
attend pre-meal meetings as requested
thank members and guests
invite them to return
consistently follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests
deliver food orders to members and guests accurately
double check order to ensure quality and correctness
communicate with server orders that are ready to be served
follow up with additional member requests and issues
welcome guests to the venue
greet customers upon their departure
manage reservations
escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
provide menus and announce waiter/waitress’s name
answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
assist wait staff as needed
