Job Duties

  • Greet guests promptly and warmly
  • anticipate business levels and perform accordingly
  • set the example of excellence in standards to other staff at all times
  • efficiently serve food and drinks in a friendly and courteous manner, offer suggestions on daily specials and wine selections, use guest names wherever possible, and be aware if they are celebrating a special occasion
  • promote the restaurants, wines, tasting room, wine club and know about upcoming events on property
  • ensure the front-of-house looks presentable to the guest
  • describe the selection of food and beverage menu items to guests by offering interesting and vivid descriptions to drive sales
  • provide each item’s taste, origin, and preparation methods
  • perform clean-up and closing duties
  • attend pre-meal meetings as requested
  • thank members and guests
  • invite them to return
  • consistently follow local and state laws and the club’s policies and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages to members and guests
  • deliver food orders to members and guests accurately
  • double check order to ensure quality and correctness
  • communicate with server orders that are ready to be served
  • follow up with additional member requests and issues
  • welcome guests to the venue
  • greet customers upon their departure
  • manage reservations
  • escort customers to assigned dining or bar areas
  • provide menus and announce waiter/waitress’s name
  • answer incoming calls and address customers’ queries
  • assist wait staff as needed
