The Front-of-House Senior (Advanced) position at Genki Sushi USA represents a critical leadership role within the restaurant’s daily operations. Reporting directly to the General Manager (GM), the FOH Senior is an expert-level team member who is highly proficient in all front-of-house stations, including hosting, serving, food running, bussing, and expo duties. This role requires a strong leader capable of providing guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to team members at all skill levels, including trainees, beginners, intermediate, and mid-level staff.
The FOH Senior is responsible for ensuring smooth front-of-house workflow by managing opening and closing procedures, maintaining high standards of guest service, and promoting a clean and safe dining environment. Additionally, the FOH Senior assists with staff scheduling, attendance monitoring, and product reordering, always aligned with cost of goods (COG) guidelines, while accountability remains with the GM. Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years or older
- Minimum 6-12 months of work experience at Mensho Hawaii or Genki Sushi USA restaurant with ability to perform BOH staff duties with little or no supervision
- Neat clean and well-groomed appearance
- Tuberculosis clearance by Department of Health's Food Handler guidelines if Hawaii only
- Appropriate state's Food Handlers Card if Washington only
- ServSafe Certification if required
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form
- Must thoroughly understand all BOH staff job requirements and be able to fully train according to company standards
Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year of work experience in a restaurant or related industry with at least one year of supervisory experience desired
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards customer relations and etiquette
- Ability to serve alcohol if applicable
- Read write and speak English fluently
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form
- Computer knowledge including Windows and basic administrative skills
- Must thoroughly understand all BOH staff job requirements and be able to fully train according to company standards
Job Duties
- Perform all FOH positions effectively including server host expo food runner busser
- Efficiently operate all FOH stations including host stand cashier beverage refreshment and bar if applicable
- Maintain strong communication with BOH to ensure timely and accurate service
- Ensure proper handling presentation and delivery of food and beverages
- Assist with receiving organizing and storing deliveries
- Maintain appropriate stock levels for FOH supplies
- Identify and communicate service or operational issues to management promptly
- Support alcohol service compliance including ID checks and responsible service if applicable
