Job Description
Westminster is a premier retirement community known for its dedicated and highly skilled staff, dynamic leadership, innovative services, and first-class facilities designed to enhance the quality of life for its residents. As a leader in senior living, Westminster offers an environment that promotes a sense of community, wellness, and personalized care. The community prides itself on fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere where residents feel valued and engaged. At Westminster, team members are empowered to contribute to the well-being and satisfaction of residents through a collaborative and professional workplace culture.
This role is a full-time Dining Room Supervisor position within Westminster's vibrant Food & Beverage department. The position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $18.00 to $25.00, with an additional incentive program that rewards outstanding performance. One notable benefit of this role is the absence of late-night shifts, with the latest shift ending at 8:30 PM, catering to work-life balance preferences. The supervisor will oversee the waitstaff in the dining room, ensuring that service standards are consistently maintained while providing an exceptional dining experience to residents and their guests.
The Supervisor plays a crucial leadership role by managing daily staff assignments, overseeing the completion of side work and closing duties, and conducting pre-service lineups to update staff on menu changes, dessert offerings, and service expectations. Part of the responsibilities includes monitoring the physical environment of the dining rooms, ensuring cleanliness, proper setup, and comfort for residents. This encompasses checking wait stations, credenzas, furniture, lighting, and overall ambience.
Scheduling is a key aspect of the role, where the supervisor assists in creating efficient dining room schedules that minimize overtime costs while maintaining excellent service coverage for all dining venues. The Supervisor works closely with the Food & Beverage Director and Dining Room Manager to keep them informed about the dining room status and any operational issues. Additionally, the supervisor coordinates catered functions, staff training, and orientation for new hires, ensuring consistent adherence to hospitality and service standards.
This role requires strong communication skills to handle resident concerns effectively and collaborate with other supervisors and departments. The ideal candidate has experience supervising in a food and beverage environment, is customer service oriented, and takes pride in delivering care with professionalism and compassion. While experience in front-of-house or restaurant supervisory roles is preferred, the company values a proactive and adaptable leader ready to perform various duties, including stepping in as waitstaff when necessary.
Joining Westminster means becoming part of a workplace that values diversity and equal opportunity. The community offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance paid by the employer, short-term disability, accident and critical illness coverage, a 403b retirement savings plan with matching contributions, tuition reimbursement, competitive pay, paid time off, and double-time pay for holiday shifts. Westminster’s commitment to employee well-being and professional growth makes it a rewarding place to build a meaningful career in senior living hospitality.
