This position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from $18.00 to $25.00, complemented by an incentive program for additional compensation. Employees benefit from a flexible schedule with no late-night shifts, as the latest shift ends at 8:30 pm, promoting a healthy work-life balance.
We are currently seeking a Dining Room Supervisor to oversee and lead our waitstaff team within our dining venues. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising in a Food & Beverage setting, demonstrating strong leadership and customer service skills. This role is essential in ensuring that all dining operations run smoothly and efficiently, maintaining high standards of hospitality and service for our residents and their guests.
The Dining Room Supervisor will manage daily staff assignments, ensuring waitstaff are positioned efficiently to meet operational needs. They will monitor the completion of daily side work and closing duties, conduct pre-service lineups to communicate menu changes, and uphold uniform standards. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for the physical appearance and cleanliness of the dining rooms, including all elements from dining furniture to environmental factors like lighting and temperature.
An important aspect of this role includes assisting with staff scheduling to prevent unnecessary overtime while ensuring exceptional service throughout meal times. The supervisor will liaise with the Food & Beverage Director and Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status and collaborate with other supervisors to address any resident concerns promptly.
This position also involves organizing and staffing catered functions, ensuring events meet established service standards. The supervisor plays a pivotal role in orienting and training new hires, as well as cross-training existing staff to handle various stations and duties effectively.
Occasionally, the supervisor may need to perform waitstaff duties to ensure service continuity. Previous front-of-house or restaurant supervisory experience is preferred, equipping the candidate with the skills to lead a team and uphold Westminster’s high standards of hospitality. Job Duties
- Responsible for daily assignments of wait staff to various positions in the restaurant and side work tasks
- Responsible for ensuring wait staff are completing daily side work and closing duties
- Conducts wait staff pre-service line up to ensure proper meal service and wait staff knowledge of daily menu changes, daily dessert offerings, physical appearance of uniforms, etc.
- Supervises the physical appearance, comfort and cleanliness of the dining rooms including wait stations, credenzas, table pedestals, chairs, rugs, drapes, floor tiles, light fixtures, temperature of the dining rooms
- Assist in the development of dining room wait staff schedule that prevents unnecessary overtime and ensure all dining venue meal service provides excellent hospitality to residents and their guests
- Advises Food & Beverage Director and Dining Room Manager regarding dining room status
- Ensure assigned functions requiring Food & Beverage involvement are organized, setup and executed to meet established standards
- Communicate with other supervisors regarding resident problems/complaints to resolve in a timely and effective manner
- Assist in implementing orientation and training new hires in all aspects of their positions
- Assist in the cross training of wait staff in different stations and duties to ensure established serving standards are met and maintained
- Perform the job duties of wait staff positions when needed
