Job Description
The establishment seeking to fill this position is a distinguished members-only club known for its exceptional dining and hospitality services. This exclusive club offers its members a refined and welcoming atmosphere where tradition and etiquette in dining are highly valued. Serving a diverse membership, the club prides itself on upholding high standards of service quality and professionalism, ensuring that every meal and event is memorable and satisfying. The club features a variety of dining options including ala carte and buffet services, alongside an extensive beverage menu that encompasses a selection of wines, cocktails, and other drinks, served with meticulous care and attention.
The role being recruited for is that of a Food and Beverage Server, a critical frontline position responsible for directly interacting with club members and guests. This full-time or part-time role requires an individual who is adept in classic etiquette and demonstrates a high level of courtesy and attentiveness in their service duties. The Food and Beverage Server must set tables and serve meals according to established proper dining protocols, ensuring the presentation and service is impeccable. This includes knowledge of proper serving techniques such as placing and removing dishes and beverages correctly, handling utensils and glassware without contamination, and respecting traditional courtesies like serving ladies first.
Beyond the technical aspects of serving, the server is expected to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor at all times, greeting members and guests warmly and responding promptly to their needs. This attention to customer service, combined with skill in handling food and beverage offerings, makes this role indispensable to the dining experience at the club. The position also involves several supporting duties including cleaning and resetting tables, managing sales tickets, refilling condiments, restocking supplies, and assisting with inventory management. Teamwork is essential, as servers often assist colleagues in other departments to maintain overall service excellence.
Candidates for this role should have a minimum of three to six months of relevant experience, preferably in a club, upscale restaurant, or banquet setting, alongside a solid understanding of both American and international dishes and beverages. The physical nature of the work requires individuals who can stand or walk for extended periods, handle lifting of moderate weight items when required, and perform duties that involve reaching, stooping, and crouching.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a prestigious and well-established club environment where hospitality and guest satisfaction are paramount. Working here means becoming part of a team that values tradition, courtesy, and excellence. Members expect and appreciate servers who are knowledgeable, respectful, and skilled, which reflects positively on the club’s longstanding reputation and commitment to quality service.
