Job Description
Kellermeyer Bergensons Services (KBS) is the largest privately held provider of facility services in North America, servicing over 2 billion square feet of space daily. KBS partners with industry leaders across a diverse range of verticals including retail, industrial and logistics, healthcare, education, and manufacturing, among others to maintain clean, efficient, and welcoming environments that enhance their operations. KBS has built a reputation on delivering exceptional service and innovation in facility management, offering clients tailored solutions that meet their unique needs and help ensure operational excellence in various workplace settings. With a commitment to growing a culture built on respect, opportunity, and pride in service, KBS seeks motivated, reliable individuals to join their team and contribute meaningfully to their mission.
Currently, KBS has immediate full-time, permanent openings for Floor Tech crew members, offering a chance to work in a fast-paced and impactful environment. The starting pay is $15.00 per hour, and shifts are available from 5:00 pm to 1:30 am. Floor Techs play a crucial role in maintaining workplace safety and cleanliness by performing a variety of floor care tasks that support the overall appearance and functionality of client facilities. Responsibilities include spot removal, extraction, bonnet cleaning, stripping and waxing, scrubbing and recoating floors, sealing grout, and more. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with a variety of equipment and chemicals to clean, shine, and repair both carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces, as well as assist with moving large furniture and objects when necessary.
The role demands a strong adherence to safety guidelines to protect themselves and others, maintaining organized janitor closets, and ensuring buildings are secure by locking doors and windows. Additionally, they report any needed repairs, safety hazards, or other conditions that require attention. An ability to follow manufacturer specifications for chemical preparation and equipment usage is important, as is following all company policies and procedures. While prior experience with janitorial tools and equipment is helpful, it is not required, but preference is given to individuals with at least one year of floor care experience.
This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in fostering safe and clean environments. KBS supports employee success through ongoing training and the use of technology such as the KBSPresence mobile timekeeping software, which helps staff accurately record work hours, manage attendance, complete required training, and receive important employment-related information. The app requires use on personal mobile devices, with reimbursement provided for work-related cell phone use in accordance with local laws.
Joining KBS also comes with attractive benefits for eligible employees working fewer than 30 hours per week, including affordable limited medical insurance with virtual physician access, 401k enrollment with company matching after one year and 1000 hours worked, voluntary Quick Pay options for hourly employees, and a Perkspot discount program offering savings on travel, gyms, cell phones, restaurants, auto services, apparel, and electronics. KBS values diversity and inclusivity, considering all applicants without discrimination based on race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, gender identity or expression, marital or military status, or any protected characteristic, and they provide reasonable accommodations in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and applicable laws. This opportunity with KBS offers a rewarding career path for those who want to make a real difference in workplace safety and cleanliness while joining a leading company known for its supportive and respectful culture.
