The role of Floor Technician at Sodexo, based at the Jackson North Medical Center, is a vital position focused on maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety within healthcare settings. The job may also involve maintaining walls, baseboards, and cove base molding, cleaning furniture, emptying trash and linen containers, and supporting general sanitation efforts that contribute to a clean and healthy environment.
This position offers flexible scheduling options that can accommodate either full-time or part-time employment, with shifts varying and open availability preferred to meet the operational needs of the facility. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 12 months of related work experience preferred
- ability to operate floor care equipment proficiently
- availability to work varying shifts including days and hours
- open availability preferred
- ability to follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
- physical capability to perform manual labor and operate heavy equipment
Job Qualifications
- Team-oriented and adaptable
- reliable with good attendance
- clear understanding of safety and hygiene standards
- 12 months of related work experience preferred
- experience with floor care equipment and all phases of floor and carpet care preferred
- ability to operate heavy floor care machinery
Job Duties
- Sweep mop buff polish scrub strip and refinish hard-surface floors using heavy equipment
- vacuum spot clean and extract carpeted floor surfaces
- clean furniture and empty trash linen and garbage containers
- wash walls and maintain baseboards and cove base molding
- assist in training other employees
- attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- perform other duties as assigned depending on business necessities and client requirements
