Floor Tech

Our company is a professional janitorial and environmental services provider serving multiple locations including Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Pensacola in Florida, and surrounding areas such as Georgia. We are currently seeking a Floor Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This position offers an hourly wage ranging from $18 to $20 per hour depending on experience and averages approximately 35+ hours per week. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, about 8 hours per day, with some shifts possibly varying based on client needs, and occasional weekend work might be required. The role will require travel within the Jacksonville, Tallahassee, and Pensacola areas as well as surrounding regions. Full authorization to work in the United States is mandatory for employment.

As a Floor Technician, your primary responsibility will be to maintain the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of floors within retail and commercial establishments. This includes using professional cleaning techniques such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, stripping, and waxing floors according to prescribed procedures to ensure optimal presentation and upkeep. Other janitorial duties may include window cleaning, restroom maintenance, dusting, and surface wipe-downs.

You will be entrusted with inspecting floors regularly for any signs of damage or wear and quickly reporting issues to management to address promptly, helping to prevent safety hazards or further deterioration. Adherence to safety guidelines and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment are critical parts of this role to maintain a secure working environment.

The Floor Technician will coordinate closely with the environmental services team to uphold cleanliness standards across facilities and manage inventories of cleaning supplies and tools to ensure adequate stock levels. This collaborative environment encourages teamwork and fosters a culture of shared responsibility for the workplace’s hygiene standards.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in floor cleaning, with familiarity in commercial cleaning or custodial services preferred. Knowledge of floor care methods, including buffing and waxing, is essential, and a strong attention to detail with excellent time management skills will contribute to success in this role. More importantly, physical stamina is required, as the job involves lifting over 20 pounds regularly, standing for extended periods, climbing stairs or ladders, bending, stretching, twisting, and being on feet throughout the shift.
