Job Description

Regal Entertainment Group is a leading movie theater chain recognized for providing outstanding cinematic experiences across its numerous locations. As a prominent entertainment company in the cinema industry, Regal offers moviegoers access to the latest films through state-of-the-art screens and amenities, including premium viewing formats like 3D, RPX, and IMAX. The company focuses on delivering excellent guest services, creating an enjoyable and memorable environment for visitors, and fostering a team-oriented workplace for its employees. Regal operates several types of staff classifications depending on theater needs and employee availability, including variable hour, part-time fixed, part-time regular, and full-time hourly employees. This flexibility allows Regal to accommodate varying schedules while maintaining exceptional service standards throughout its theaters.

The Floor Staff position at Regal is a dynamic role that plays a critical part in ensuring guests receive exceptional and efficient service during their movie-going experience. Floor Staff team members can be scheduled in different roles such as the Box Office, Concession Stand, or as an Usher, each carrying distinct responsibilities. Employees in this role represent Regal’s mission and values and are expected to maintain a high level of professionalism consistent with company policies. Whether working with tickets, concessions, or assisting guests inside the auditoriums, Floor Staff contribute significantly to the overall guest satisfaction and smooth operations within the theater.

Box Office Floor Staff are entrusted with managing ticket sales, including operating the point of sale (POS) system and handling cash, credit cards, and various promotions such as gift cards or discount coupons. They also promote Regal’s Crown Club loyalty program, ensure compliance with the MPAA rating system when selling tickets, and respond to guest inquiries in alignment with Regal’s guest service philosophy. Concession staff are responsible for food and beverage sales, including proper cash handling and maintaining concession inventory. They prepare and clean concession equipment, promote up-sell opportunities, and comply with all food safety regulations. In locations where alcohol is sold, staff must have current certification to serve responsibly.

Ushers perform important tasks such as ticket tearing, directing patrons to their seats, inspecting bags when required, managing crowd control, and enforcing MPAA guidelines within the auditoriums. They conduct safety and quality checks, ensure a clean theater environment by maintaining restrooms, lobbies, and auditoriums after shows, and assist with concession sales inside auditoriums as directed. Regarded as the face of the theater, Floor Staff must consistently demonstrate excellent communication skills, handle emergency situations when necessary, and maintain the cleanliness and security of the premises.

This position requires regular and consistent attendance and adherence to the company dress code. Regal stresses the importance of teamwork, customer service excellence, and the physical ability to meet the demands of the role, which includes standing, walking, sitting, and occasionally lifting items up to 60 pounds. Employees must be able to perform basic math accurately when handling transactions and be capable of effective problem-solving in fast-paced environments. This role often involves working nights, weekends, and holidays depending on theater schedules. Applicants should apply using a desktop or laptop computer to ensure their applications are properly submitted and reviewed. Overall, the Floor Staff position at Regal Entertainment Group offers a vibrant, customer-focused work environment with opportunities to develop customer service and operational skills in the entertainment industry.
