Job Description
The Aviary is a distinguished cocktail lounge that is part of The Alinea Group, a renowned name in the fine dining and hospitality industry. Known for reinventing the cocktail experience, The Aviary masterfully crafts modernist cocktails that are visually stunning and flavorfully complex, offering guests a unique and elevated beverage experience. Guests can enjoy these exceptional cocktails alongside a delectable pre-fixe or a la carte dining experience provided by The Alinea Group. Additionally, beneath The Aviary lies The Office, a vintage-inspired speakeasy featuring an exclusive collection of rare spirits, enhancing the overall refined ambiance. The Aviary has received prestigious accolades including the Outstanding Bar Program in the U.S. by the James Beard Foundation in 2013 and the Spirited Award for the World’s Best Cocktail Menu in 2014, underscoring its commitment to excellence and innovation in the culinary and beverage arts. It has also been recognized multiple times on Drinks International's The World's 50 Best Bar list, cementing its status as a top-tier establishment in the industry.
The Alinea Group is currently seeking a full-time Floor Manager to join The Aviary team. This leadership role is pivotal in supporting the daily operations of the lounge while actively engaging in floor service alongside the front-of-house team. The Floor Manager is tasked with delivering an exceptional guest experience by being hands-on during service hours, leading and supporting the front-of-house staff, and ensuring adherence to The Alinea Group's high standards. Responsibilities include strategizing the development and training of FOH team members, collaborating closely with the General Manager, and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the food, beverage, and products served. The Floor Manager also oversees the setup and breakdown of the dining room and guarantees compliance with regulatory and company standards. This role demands effective anticipation of upper management's needs, fostering strong staff morale, monitoring team performance, and ensuring precise execution of service. The Floor Manager leads pre-service meetings, assists in recruiting and staff development, promotes operational efficiencies such as cross-training and appropriate staffing coverage, and upholds alcohol serving regulations. The position offers a competitive exempt salaried compensation starting between $75,000 and $80,000 annually, along with extensive benefits including medical, vision, dental, and life insurance provided fully by the company following the first month of full-time employment. Paid time off, a 401(k) plan with company match, transit discounts, dining discounts at any Alinea Group restaurant, and an employee referral bonus program are additional perks of the role. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional with a passion for fine dining and cocktail culture to join a highly acclaimed and innovative establishment in a supervisory capacity.
