Job Description
The Golden State Warriors are a renowned professional basketball team competing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, they have a storied history marked by championships and an enduring fan base. The Warriors are not just a basketball team, but also a community-oriented organization with a strong commitment to promoting athletic development, sportsmanship, and wellness among basketball enthusiasts of all ages. Beyond the professional team itself, the organization offers a range of basketball training services and facilities aimed at developing skills, fitness, and love for the game throughout the community.
The current opportunity is for the position of Floor Coach, a part-time role located in either the San Francisco, CA or San Jose, CA area. As a Floor Coach with the Golden State Warriors, you will be an integral part of the training staff at their basketball facilities. The core mission of this role is to provide high-quality basketball instruction that emphasizes skill development in a positive and engaging environment. By delivering personalized coaching sessions, running skill development classes, and providing mentorship to facility members, Floor Coaches directly contribute to the athletic and personal growth of participants.
This role requires you to embody the Warriors' core value of connectivity, acting as a role model and building lasting relationships with members through positive interactions. The position blends hands-on coaching with customer service responsibilities, including assisting members with equipment, answering facility inquiries, scheduling, and sales transactions. Coaches will also participate in basketball camps and clinics, contributing to community outreach programs.
Because this is a part-time position, it requires a flexible schedule with availability to work up to 28 hours per week, primarily in the afternoons, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Compensation is competitive, with hourly wages starting at $19.61 in San Francisco and $18.45 in San Jose, plus commission opportunities. The Warriors also pride themselves on diversity and inclusion, providing reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities and considering all qualified candidates without discrimination, including those with arrest and conviction records in compliance with San Francisco’s Fair Chance Ordinance.
Overall, this role offers an exciting chance to blend your passion for basketball and coaching with customer service within a prestigious NBA organization committed to athlete success and community impact. Whether you have experience coaching or are looking to advance your career in sports instruction, this position offers meaningful work, skill development, and the opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team environment.
