Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 2 years of retail or store management experience
- valid driver's license
- ability to pass motor vehicle record search
- strong leadership and team-building skills
- excellent customer service skills
- proficiency with cash handling and financial management
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- basic computer literacy including POS and payroll systems
- physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally up to 100 pounds
- ability to stand for extended periods
- ability to work in variable store environment conditions
- willingness to travel for training and work as needed
Job Qualifications
- 2 years' experience in staff management and development or combination of education and experience
- proven retail management experience
- strong leadership and team-building skills
- excellent customer service orientation
- proficiency in cash handling and basic financial management
- ability to work a flexible schedule, including early/late shifts, weekends, and holidays
- ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management and coworkers
- basic computer skills including the use of Point of Sales System, payroll program, Microsoft Office Suite
- good speaking, hearing and vision ability
- excellent manual dexterity
- valid driver's license
- must pass a motor vehicle record search
Job Duties
- Recruit, train, and supervise store staff
- manage scheduling and payroll processing
- implement company policies and practices in employee relations
- develop and implement strategies to meet production and sales goals
- oversee donation processes, product sorting, pricing, and presentation
- manage store maintenance, safety, and appearance
- ensure compliance with OSHA and Salvation Army safety policies
- create an enjoyable shopping environment
- develop customer retention plans
- set an example for positive customer interactions
- oversee cash handling procedures and daily deposits
- work within budget parameters
- manage inventory tracking for designated product lines
- maintain open communication with Regional Manager and Department Heads
- provide daily reports on store production and sales
- address customer complaints and provide education about the program
- recruit, interview, and recommend for hire store staff
- provide direct reports with a personnel review
- review and approve time and attendance for store personnel using the current payroll system
- check time logs regularly, following all current regulations and trainings
