Located in the Dallas / Plano, TX region, the role of Floating Maintenance Technician II is an essential part of Fairfield's operations. This position involves maintaining and repairing electrical, plumbing, and appliance systems across multiple residential communities, ensuring that each apartment and common area meets the company’s high standards of quality and safety. The Floating Maintenance Technician II quickly responds to maintenance requests, troubleshoots and resolves technical issues, and prepares vacant units for new residents by adhering to a detailed Make Ready Checklist. Beyond technical duties, this role also emphasizes safety and compliance by inspecting buildings and grounds for cleanliness and hazards, following safe work practices, and responding to on-call emergencies.

The technician will regularly communicate with vendors and contractors to coordinate repairs and maintenance efforts, report inventory needs, and identify potential liabilities to management. This position is best suited for someone who thrives in an independent and dynamic environment, is detail-oriented, and possesses strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver’s license
  • minimum one year of previous experience in property management maintenance, other building maintenance, or related trade
  • ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • general computer skills including operating a mobile device
  • strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
  • superior customer service skills including the ability to manage difficult customers and situations
  • working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair
  • professional verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to work independently
  • ability to be on-call for after-hours emergencies
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Job Qualifications
