The position available is a Bakery Lead role, which plays a crucial part in the daily operations of the bakery department at Price Chopper stores. This role is designed to provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient service to customers while overseeing bakery operations to achieve financial and quality objectives. The Bakery Lead ensures that all corporate and state sanitation procedures and regulations are strictly upheld. While the role does not involve regular supervision of associates, the Bakery Lead is responsible for overseeing clerks within the department, ensuring that bakery products are properly handled, merchandised, and meet company standards for quality and presentation.

In this role, employees are entrusted with maintaining an attractive and well-stocked bakery department that meets customers' needs. They are tasked with ensuring budgeted sales goals, gross profit margins, and shrink control are achieved. Additionally, the Bakery Lead must maintain a neat and organized workstation aligning with 5S standards, and is responsible for training bakery associates according to corporate standards. This position also requires managing inventory levels to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction, while scheduling associates to effectively cover the bakery operations.

This role demands strong communication skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least three years of related experience. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and demonstrate the ability to manage tasks effectively, display initiative, and follow through on objectives to support the bakery department and overall store performance. The pay range for this position is $20.00 to $28.75 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role and the expertise required. Job Duties

  • Provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times

  • Manage inventory and merchandising of bakery products to meet customer needs
  • Monitor and control bakery department financial budgets including sales, gross profit and shrink levels
  • Ensure all bakery associates are trained and adhere to corporate and state sanitation regulations
  • Schedule bakery associates to satisfy customer needs
  • Complete customer orders and deliveries in a timely and accurate manner
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
