The role available is that of a Bakery Department Supervisor, a vital position responsible for overseeing the bakery operations at one of the Price Chopper stores. This role is pivotal in ensuring that budgeted financial objectives and product quality standards are met consistently to maximize sales opportunities. The Bakery Department Supervisor ensures that all bakery products are handled and presented according to company policies and that all corporate and state sanitation regulations are strictly followed. The position involves managing inventory, merchandising, and maintaining product quality to guarantee customer satisfaction at all times.

Key responsibilities include supervising the daily operations of the bakery department, which entails monitoring product availability and quality, controlling shrink, and ensuring that financial budgets related to sales, gross profit, and shrink levels are achieved. Even though this role does not regularly supervise associates, it requires scheduling bakery associates to meet customer needs effectively and ensuring all associates receive proper training to uphold corporate bakery standards. In this role, the supervisor will act as a customer service ambassador, providing fast, friendly, and helpful service while maintaining a clean and organized workspace according to 5S standards.

The Bakery Department Supervisor also plays an essential part in merchandising bakery products according to corporate sales programs, making certain only quality products are displayed, and customer orders and deliveries are completed accurately and on time. A significant aspect of this role is maintaining excellent communication with both customers and team members to foster a collaborative work atmosphere and deliver outstanding service. This role offers a pay range of $20.00 to $28.75 per hour, which reflects the importance and responsibility associated with the position within the company structure.

Working in the bakery department of a busy grocery store requires dedication, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills. The successful candidate must be at least 18 years old and possess a minimum of three years of related experience along with strong communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
