Job Description
Woodcraft Rangers is a well-established nonprofit organization founded in 1922, dedicated to empowering youth and fostering purposeful lives through comprehensive afterschool and expanded learning programs. Serving more than 30,000 youth from Transitional Kindergarten through 12th grade each year, Woodcraft Rangers is renowned for its inclusive, youth-led approach that integrates physical, mental, spiritual, and service development under its guiding philosophy known as the Woodcraft Way. With a presence across over 160 Title I schools in Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, the organization continuously expands its reach and services to address the evolving needs of diverse communities. \n\nThe Club Leader Floater position at Woodcraft Rangers offers a unique opportunity to join a passionate team committed to community service and youth development within the Moreno Valley Unified School District. This part-time, non-exempt role pays between $20.50 and $24.15 per hour, with flexible hours ranging from 10 to 25 per week across multiple sites. Shifts vary and may include evenings, weekends, and mandatory trainings. Reporting directly to the Site Coordinator, Club Leader Floaters provide essential coverage support by stepping into Club Leader roles as needed to fill staffing gaps caused by absences or enrollment fluctuations. This role demands adaptability, flexibility for short-notice scheduling, and a genuine passion for creating fun, safe, and engaging learning environments for groups of approximately 20 children. \n\nAs a Club Leader Floater, you will play a critical role in maintaining an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming space, promoting diversity while delivering age-appropriate activities aligned with a whole-child approach. Responsibilities include monitoring attendance, building positive relationships with youth and colleagues, and collaborating on culminating program events. The role involves participation in mandatory staff development hours and adherence to safety protocols. The position requires onsite presence for training sessions held at the Woodcraft Rangers main office in Little Tokyo and local school sites. Due to the nature of program coverage, you must be prepared for potential travel between sites and varying schedules, which may include evenings and weekends. \n\nThis position is ideal for energetic, proactive individuals who are detail-oriented and comfortable working independently or as part of a team. Those who enjoy engaging with youth and contributing to their community’s well-being will find this role rewarding. Woodcraft Rangers values career development and offers opportunities for upward mobility and growth through its Lifecraft program. Joining Woodcraft Rangers means becoming part of a progressive organization with a rich history of positive impact, empowering youth to define their own paths to success, and actively participating in their personal growth and community engagement.
