Job Description

The hiring establishment is a well-regarded healthcare provider operating multiple clinics across Kansas. This organization is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a positive healthcare experience for everyone who walks through their doors. As a multi-location healthcare provider, the company emphasizes flexibility, adaptability, and teamwork among its staff to adequately meet patient needs across various geographic locations. Their strong focus on community health and wellness is supported by a dedicated team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff who work collaboratively to maintain high standards of patient service and confidentiality.

This particular role, Patient Service Specialist, is a travel-based position requiring the candidate to work across multiple clinic locations throughout Kansas. Team members are expected to support varying clinics based on dynamic staffing needs, making the role ideal for individuals who thrive on variety, enjoy collaborating with different teams, and are comfortable with frequent travel. The company provides reimbursement for travel time and mileage to ensure employees are fairly compensated for their mobility.

The Patient Service Specialist serves as a vital frontline representative, handling all front office activities such as managing the reception area, mail distribution, insurance verification, and ensuring patient data integrity. Acting as a patient concierge, this role demands delivering excellent customer service by greeting patients warmly, managing patient flow efficiently, collecting copayments, and maintaining strict patient confidentiality. The specialist supports operational efficiency by promptly recording accurate patient information, verifying insurance details, processing payments in accordance with insurance plans, and collaborating with other clinic staff to coordinate referrals and manage patient records.

Given the complexity and sensitive nature of the role, an ability to multitask effectively while maintaining professionalism is essential. The specialist must adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and federal regulations, ensuring protection of patient and staff information at all times. This position also involves maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the lobby area to create a welcoming environment for patients and visitors. It requires the individual to be proactive in seeking methods to minimize financial risk and assist in auditing processes to maintain compliance with financial monitoring controls.

This role is well-suited for candidates with medical office experience, knowledge of medical coding and billing, and familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations. Proficiency in common PC applications such as Microsoft Office and the internet is necessary, as is the ability to supervise and train provider staff. This is a safety-sensitive, confidential position often exposed to a fast-paced medical environment requiring handling of patient elements and occasional irregular working hours.

The company values its employees and fosters a positive, team-oriented work culture committed to supporting staff in delivering excellent patient care. This position offers an excellent opportunity for healthcare administrative professionals seeking a dynamic role with travel flexibility and direct impact on patient service operations.
