The Medical Assistant - Float position is an essential role within Oak Street Health that requires someone highly motivated, flexible, and attentive to detail. Medical Assistants at Oak Street Health play a pivotal role in gathering accurate and necessary medical information from patients, enabling healthcare providers to make informed decisions regarding patient care. Reporting directly to the Practice Manager or Center Operations Specialist, Medical Assistants are integral members of the Care Teams, supporting clinical outcomes and enhancing the patient experience.

This role demands exceptional organizational skills, energy, and problem-solving ability, as MAs are responsible for assisting with patient assessments, including screenings and routine diagnostic testing during appointments. As a float Medical Assistant, you will work across various locations, requiring adaptability and a willingness to support different care teams as needed. This position requires strong interpersonal skills to foster meaningful relationships with patients, promoting trust and comfort during medical encounters.

Medical Assistants at Oak Street Health perform a wide range of activities including ensuring efficient patient flow, completing vital signs and medication reviews, managing inventory and clinical supplies, responding to telephonic patient requests, and administering vaccinations and point-of-care tests in line with state regulations. This role also involves participating in care team meetings, processing durable medical equipment orders, retrieving medical records, and contributing to routine quality control measures such as infection control and equipment checks. The role is a full-time position with an anticipated workweek of 40 hours, offering a competitive pay range from $18.50 to $35.29 per hour. The actual compensation package is influenced by factors such as experience, education, and location. Additionally, the position is eligible for bonuses, commissions, or short-term incentive programs provided by CVS Health, further enhancing the rewards for high performance.
