Job Description
Airbus Americas, Inc. is a prominent division of Airbus, a global leader in aerospace manufacturing renowned for its innovative commercial aircraft, defense and space products, and helicopter technologies. Airbus operates worldwide, delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive connectivity and technological advancement in the aviation industry. Known for its commitment to technology, safety, and sustainability, Airbus places a strong emphasis on creating an inclusive and diverse workforce aligning with its values of integrity and corporate responsibility.
This particular opportunity is an on-site, professional-level, agency/temporary role within the Flight Line job family, focused on functional aircraft testing and maintenance operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that newly built aircraft meet rigorous test flight and delivery readiness standards. The role encompasses the operation, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and inspection of aircraft systems using approved technical data and test equipment. Working closely with engineering and flight test personnel, the individual will interpret technical manuals and schematics to execute functional test procedures (FTP) and prepare aircraft for pre- and post-flight inspections.
The role requires proficiency in handling a wide array of diagnostic tools and test equipment while adhering to safety, quality, and cost guidelines within allocated man-hour budgets. Specific duties involve performing daily inspection checklists, troubleshooting integrated electronic flight control, navigation, and heading systems, calibrating and aligning airborne electronic components, and managing software upgrades on aircraft avionics. Moreover, the candidate will perform post-dock maintenance checks, verify flight configurations before the induction of the first flight, and conduct incoming inspections of cockpit, cabin interiors, and electronic bays to ensure safety compliance.
Airbus places an emphasis on continuous learning and flexibility. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to absorb new troubleshooting techniques and support the Flight Line Mobile Organization effectively. This role entails collaborating closely with system engineers to analyze flight test data for diagnosing malfunctions and addressing systemic performance issues. Strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential to maintain alignment with team leads regarding schedules, priorities, and resource availability.
The company provides relocation assistance for qualified candidates and a comprehensive compensation package, emphasizing career growth and skill development in aeronautical manufacturing. Airbus is committed to equal employment opportunity, supporting applicants regardless of race, color, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, marital status, pregnancy, genetic information, or any legally protected status. The work environment encourages diversity and inclusiveness, ensuring all employees can contribute to the success and reputation of the company.
Candidates should be aware that this is an at-will employment opportunity with Airbus, and employment details, duties, and responsibilities may be subject to change. A high degree of integrity and compliance awareness is essential, as Airbus upholds stringent standards relating to ethical conduct and legal compliance in its operations.
