Stationed in Tucson, Arizona, this paramedic position offers the unique opportunity to work as part of a Clinical Flight Crew operating advanced medical helicopters. With over three years of recent experience in busy 911 emergency systems, successful candidates will contribute to Air Methods' mission by delivering advanced life support during patient transport. The role requires a high standard of clinical competency, ongoing education, and adherence to strict safety and operational protocols. Paramedics in this role collaborate closely with medical base supervisors and education coordinators to ensure all patient care, equipment maintenance, and documentation standards are met or exceeded. This employment opportunity is highly dynamic, involving pre-mission briefings, in-flight medical care, and post-mission reporting. The position requires maintaining a scope of practice compliant with state regulations and Air Methods Community Based Services (CBS) policies, including rigorous maintenance of required certifications, licenses, and continued education such as BLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, and specialized trauma courses. Advanced certifications like FP-C or CCP-C are required within the first two years of hire. Paramedics must also possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact with hospitals, EMS agencies, and team members. Additionally, proficiency with Microsoft Office applications supports efficient documentation and communication duties.

Operationally, candidates must meet physical requirements including a maximum weight limit and the ability to participate in all facets of flight crew responsibilities, including assisting pilots as needed.
