Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education/job related experience
  • Ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor License
  • Must have and maintain FAA Class II medical
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to administer flight instructions
  • Lift up to 45 lbs of weight

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience
  • Ability to work with flight students one-on-one and in a classroom setting
  • FAA Certified Flight Instructor License
  • FAA Class II medical certificate
  • Valid driver’s license

Job Duties

  • Administer FAA syllabus flight and ground instruction to university students
  • Perform check rides in accordance with FAA prescribed guidelines
  • Instruct ground school if required
  • Administer FAA required ground tests
  • Schedule training, stage checks, and check rides
  • Perform FAST flights including faculty and staff transportation
  • Assist in promoting the Department of Aviation
  • Develop new courses and syllabi
  • Help with preventive maintenance of OU fleet aircraft
  • Perform dispatching duties for daily flight operations
