This job opening is for a full-time Class A CDL Truck Driver position based in San Antonio, Texas, with Penske Logistics LLC. Drivers in this role can expect an average annual salary of $110,000, which includes a $55 per diem allowance during layovers. This position requires the driver to travel up to 100 percent regionally, working at various locations as assignments require. As part of this role, individuals will operate late-model Penske-maintained trucks equipped with best-in-class safety features, including inward and outward facing in-cab cameras to promote a secure driving environment. Drivers will haul automotive parts and supplies, completing multi-stop deliveries primarily to automotive dealerships.
The schedule for this position varies depending on assignment specifics, with drivers typically spending 2 to 3 weeks away from home per work assignment. During these assignments, drivers will travel to their designated location and work from that base until the assignment concludes. Penske emphasizes safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance. Drivers are expected to obtain a hazmat endorsement within 90 days of hire, further augmenting their credentials and capabilities.
Key responsibilities of this role include unloading trailers using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages, as well as scanning products upon delivery using handheld scanners. Drivers must adhere to all federal and state laws, maintain full compliance with safety regulations, and represent Penske and its clients with the highest level of customer service and professionalism. The company offers robust training to support career advancement and skill enhancement.
Penske provides a comprehensive benefits package that keeps associates and their families healthy, secure, and motivated. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays starting from day one, generous retirement plans, excellent healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision benefits, short and long-term disability insurance, life and AD&D insurance, company-provided uniforms and safety footwear, an employee discount program, a driver referral bonus program up to $5,000 per referral, safety incentive programs, and the Premier Driver Recognition Program.
Working at Penske means joining a stable, nationwide company admired for its great management, clear communication, and excellent safety record. Penske pays every Friday and ensures their drivers have access to the best equipment and supportive work environment. These features make Penske an ideal employer for professional truck drivers who are ready to take their careers to the next level.
