With a presence spanning North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Penske Logistics is committed to engineering state-of-the-art solutions that empower businesses to move forward and meet evolving supply chain demands. Penske operates with a strong focus on safety, technology, and customer service, making it one of the most respected names in the logistics and transportation industry.
This immediate opportunity is for full-time Class A CDL Truck Drivers to join Penske's professional driver team. Classified under the Driver job family, this role is based at the primary location in Lockport, Illinois. Penske offers a highly competitive compensation package, with an average annual salary of $120,000, backed by performance and retention incentives. Drivers are eligible for a $5,000 retention bonus and have access to a weekly minimum pay guarantee of $1,416, making this position especially attractive to experienced CDL drivers seeking stability and growth in their transportation careers.
The role requires drivers to perform multi-stop deliveries of bread and other products to various customer locations regionally, with the potential to be on the road for up to two weeks at a time. Dispatch times and assignments will vary according to operational needs, and flexibility is crucial as drivers must be ready to travel and deliver safely and efficiently across the region. Penske places a high priority on safety and driver comfort, providing late-model, Penske-maintained trucks equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras and best-in-class specifications designed for comfort and safety.
Per diem pay of $80 per night on over-the-road assignments is included, along with $0.66 per mile and $26.50 per delivery compensation, with no out-of-pocket travel expenses for drivers. Penske also supports its drivers with a robust referral bonus program of up to $5,000 per referral, encouraging teamwork and growth within its driver community.
Penske’s comprehensive benefits package includes paid vacation and holidays starting day one, generous retirement benefits, and excellent medical, dental, and vision coverage. The package also includes short and long-term disability insurance, life and AD&D coverage, company-provided uniforms and safety footwear, an employee discount program, and various safety incentives such as the Safety Incentive Program and Premier Driver Recognition Program. These benefits ensure drivers and their families are well taken care of, promoting long-term career satisfaction and security.
Working at Penske means becoming part of a nationwide company known for its outstanding reputation in management, communication, equipment quality, and safety. Drivers are paid weekly every Friday, reflecting Penske’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding its team members promptly and fairly. Additionally, Penske offers numerous training and career advancement opportunities, allowing drivers to develop their skills and explore new locations across the country.
In summary, this role is ideal for CDL Class A drivers looking for a stable, rewarding position with a top-tier logistics provider that values safety, career growth, and employee well-being. Penske Logistics stands out for its strong organizational culture, customer focus, and dedication to providing industry-leading transportation solutions.
