This job opportunity presents a full-time Class A CDL Truck Driver position with Penske Logistics located in Kansas City, MO. This role offers an average annual salary of $120,000, complemented by a substantial $10,000 retention bonus and a driver referral bonus program that offers up to $5,000 per referral. Drivers in this position can expect travel requirements up to 100 percent, which involves regional assignments where they will work at various locations as necessary, often away from home for one to three weeks per assignment. The assignments include performing multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to automotive dealerships, unloading trailers using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages, and using scanners to track products during unloading and delivery.
Drivers will operate late-model trucks maintained by Penske and equipped with best-in-class specifications designed for comfort and safety. The vehicles include inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras to ensure safety for all. The position requires a flexible schedule; dispatch times vary according to work assignments, and drivers must be prepared to work at the designated locations for the assignment duration. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- must have valid class a commercial driver’s license
- must be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate dot medical card
- minimum 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience in the past 3 years or minimum 2 years of experience in the past 5 years
- must have a clean driving record with no more than two violations or accidents in the past 3 years
- must be proficient in english
- must pass background check, drug screening, and submit completed employment application
- ability to remain alert and safely operate a commercial truck
- physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs
- ability to frequently enter and exit vehicle and cargo areas
Job Qualifications
- valid class a cdl required
- applicants must be domiciled in the u.s. and licensed in their state of residence
- currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate dot medical card required
- 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
- 3 years dmv/mvr record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
- english language proficiency
- ability to work required schedule and location
- compliant with background check and drug screening
- ability to maintain alertness and safety
- able to accept responsibility for own safety and safety of others
Job Duties
