Located in Bethesda, Maryland, this full-time, management-level position offers a competitive hourly pay range of $27.59 to $43.60 and is a temporary opportunity with flexible remote work options depending on the candidate's location. The role centers around revenue management, a critical function within Marriott's operational strategy focused on maximizing transient room revenue and optimizing inventory across properties within the cluster. The Revenue Manager will oversee the transient rooms inventory, strategically releasing group rooms back into general inventory and maintaining clean booking windows to enhance customer experience and profitability. They will play a vital role in pricing and positioning hotel properties within the market, offering expert guidance on sales strategies and rate implementation to align with brand philosophies and market demands.
The role demands an analytical mindset, requiring the incumbent to compile, analyze, and report revenue management data to inform strategic decisions. A key part of the position involves conducting sales strategy analyses, forecasting demand, and identifying market trends to optimize revenue streams effectively. The Revenue Manager will collaborate closely with cluster general managers, leadership teams, and sales leaders to ensure alignment with business objectives, taking ownership of executing long-range revenue strategies, driving innovation, and improving revenue management processes. This position also requires liaising with various stakeholders, including property teams, regional and corporate systems support, and franchise partners, to ensure coordinated efforts in maximizing revenue opportunities.
Additional responsibilities include managing room inventory, coordinating strategies among group sales offices, supporting cluster selling initiatives, and conducting revenue tests to evaluate and enhance profitability. Effective communication of brand initiatives, demand analysis, and market data to all relevant parties is essential. The role embodies Marriott’s commitment to excellence, customer satisfaction, and brand equity protection, making it a dynamic and strategically important position within the organization. Job Requirements
- 2-year degree from an accredited university or related experience
- 3 years experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or related field
- OR 4-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or related experience
- 1 year experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area
- Ability to analyze and interpret data effectively
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and software related to revenue management
- Capacity to participate in meetings and collaborate with teams
- Ability to work remotely as required
Job Qualifications
- 2-year degree from accredited university or related experience in business administration, finance, economics, hotel management
- 3 years experience in revenue management, sales and marketing, or related professional area
- OR 4-year bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 1 year experience in revenue management or related area
- Proficiency in revenue management systems and data analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of market trends and sales strategy development
- Experience in managing hotel room inventory and pricing strategies
Job Duties
- Maintains the transient rooms inventory and maximizes transient revenue
