SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is a family-owned, values-driven leader in the ready mix concrete industry with a rich history dating back to 1999. From its humble beginnings with a single plant in Smyrna, Tennessee, SRM Concrete has rapidly expanded to over 600 locations nationwide, serving communities with a steadfast commitment to quality, integrity, and exceptional service. The company’s mission is clear: to serve customers, communities, and team members with excellence in every load, every day. Known for its consistent local routes and a strong culture that emphasizes hard work, respect, and teamwork, SRM Concrete offers a dependable environment where every team member matters and has the opportunity to grow.

SRM Concrete is currently seeking dedicated and skilled Fleet Mechanics who take pride in hands-on problem solving and maintaining diesel engines and heavy equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that the company’s fleet of mixer trucks, loaders, dump trucks, tankers, and other essential vehicles operate reliably and safely to meet ongoing project demands and delivery schedules. The position is ideal for experienced diesel mechanics as well as entry-level candidates eager to begin their careers in heavy equipment maintenance. SRM Concrete supports all employees with extensive on-the-job training and opportunities for continuous learning.

As a Fleet Mechanic with SRM Concrete, you will perform routine maintenance and inspections on a variety of diesel engines and equipment, including oil changes, lubrications, and filter replacements. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools to identify problems promptly. The role also involves rebuilding, replacing, or repairing major components like engine heads, blocks, starters, and transmissions.

Working collaboratively with the operations team, you will help schedule maintenance and repairs to minimize vehicle downtime and maintain operational efficiency. Safety compliance is a top priority, so you will ensure that all repairs and maintenance conform to SRM’s strict safety policies both in the workshop and on job sites. Accurate record-keeping of maintenance and repair activities using company systems is essential for consistent fleet performance. Staying updated on the latest diesel engine technologies and repair techniques will also form a core part of your responsibilities, enabling you to contribute effectively to SRM’s ongoing success.

SRM Concrete offers an exciting working environment with competitive hourly pay, overtime opportunities, bonuses, and annual raises. Benefits include low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off/vacation, a 401(k) plan with company match, family days, and much more. Employees enjoy consistent local routes without Sunday work, fostering a healthy work-life balance. With a team culture that encourages recognition and respect, SRM Concrete is the place to build a rewarding and progressive career in the construction and heavy equipment industry. If you are a committed, safety-conscious mechanic eager to contribute to a company that values hard work and integrity, SRM Concrete invites you to apply today and join a team that is helping to build America’s future.
