The Diesel Mechanic role at US Foods is a critical position responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of the company’s fleet equipment. This is a full-time position with a starting wage of $32.91 per hour, along with overtime compensation. The role works primarily onsite within a US Foods maintenance facility during a Sunday through Thursday schedule from 8:00 PM to 4:30 AM. This mechanic position requires expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on commercial diesel vehicles such as tractors, trailers, bobtails, and lift gates. Candidates will have the opportunity to work with newer equipment in a strong safety culture, supported by excellent local leadership. The position includes a tool allowance to equip the mechanic with necessary personal tools.

In this role, the Diesel Mechanic will troubleshoot and rebuild various diesel equipment systems, manage road calls by coordinating with vendors and business partners, and maintain detailed documentation through fleet maintenance software. The role demands hands-on experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to perform independently while supporting other maintenance team members when needed. The work environment includes exposure to extreme weather conditions and requires physical stamina to frequently lift and carry heavy objects, stand, walk, and operate vehicles.
