- Knowledge of DOT and state inspection programs

Job Duties
- Manage company owned vehicles, garages, and mechanics to provide a safe and dependable fleet of vehicles
- Ensure and maintain a safe environment through compliance with all company, local, state and federal mandates or programs
- Create a continuous improvement environment by improving products, service, and processes with the objective to reduce waste while striving for efficiency and profitability
- Oversee mechanics performing repairs and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure readiness and safety
- Coach and train mechanics in light and heavy-duty repairs
- Champion special projects to achieve budget and productivity goals
- Utilize fleet tools and programs to manage defined standards
- Complete and lead fleet audit compliance and correction
- Manage preventive maintenance program compliance and maintain accurate service and inspection records
- Complete incident reports and conduct full investigations to determine root cause
- Administer fleet department safety programs within the region
- Review purchasing programs and manage parts inventory
- Acquire and maintain expertise in fleet maintenance management software
- Assist in budget control and implement cost cutting measures
- Oversee third party maintenance providers
