Job Description

MV Transportation is a leading provider of specialized transportation management services, with a primary focus on public transit operations across various regions of the United States. As a company committed to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient transportation solutions, MV Transportation has established itself as a key player in the transit industry, operating a diverse fleet of vehicles including fixed route buses, paratransit vehicles, and commuter shuttles. With a strong emphasis on compliance, innovation, and customer satisfaction, MV Transportation partners with municipalities and private organizations to manage and optimize transit operations that cater to the needs of communities and organizations alike. The company's dedication to sustainability and technological improvement ensures that it is at the forefront of the evolving transit sector.

The role of Fleet Maintenance Manager at MV Transportation is a critical senior-level position that involves overseeing the comprehensive maintenance activities of a fixed route bus operation. This position requires a dynamic and multi-task oriented professional responsible for managing all day-to-day maintenance operations, ensuring that the fleet remains in optimal working condition and adheres to all safety and regulatory standards. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will be accountable for meeting all contractual maintenance requirements, preparing and reviewing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance reports, and managing the maintenance budget effectively. This role demands a strong leadership presence as it involves directing a team of more than 10 employees, including fleet technicians, service workers, and cleaners.

Additionally, the Fleet Maintenance Manager must have technical competence in light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicle repairs and preventive maintenance, especially within the fixed route transit bus environment. Experience working with a fleet of 50 or more buses is essential, as is the ability to manage parts inventories, vendors, and supplier relationships. Responsibilities extend to prioritizing, planning, and managing work schedules and projects to ensure maintenance activities align with operational goals. The ideal candidate will be proficient in financial and accounting aspects related to fleet maintenance and capable of communicating effectively across all organizational levels.

The position offers a competitive starting salary range from $135,000 to $145,000 annually, along with healthcare benefits including PPO medical plans, dental and vision coverage for employees and their dependents, as well as telemedicine services, life insurance, and disability benefits. Additional perks include a 401k retirement plan, paid time off with accruals starting at 3.08 hours bi-weekly, 8 paid holidays, and generous paid sick leave. MV Transportation also offers referral bonuses for drivers and mechanics, highlighting the company’s commitment to attracting and retaining qualified personnel. MV Transportation operates an equal employment opportunity policy that embraces diversity and prohibits discrimination based on protected legal statuses.
