Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous culinary experience preferred
  • ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent decisions
  • basic computer literacy
  • preferred ServSafe certification
  • completion of knife skills training
  • adherence to IDEXX mission and values
  • strong team player

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in food preparation and line cooking
  • ability to maintain kitchen organization and inventory
  • strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • ability to work independently and as a team contributor
  • knowledge of food safety guidelines and sanitation standards
  • proficiency in computer use and email communication
  • understanding of chemical use and safety procedures
  • ability to comprehend written information and provide constructive feedback

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve food as directed by head chef and executive chef
  • provide culinary support including line cooking, food preparation, menu creation, and plating
  • perform day-to-day culinary tasks demonstrating culinary talents
  • work in all venues and cross train to support daily tasks
  • ensure exceptional quality of ingredients, preparation, and plating
  • monitor sanitation practices and ensure standards and regulations are followed
  • maintain safe food handling procedures and safe working environment
  • step in for other culinary staff as needed
  • clean and maintain cafe equipment and machinery
  • exhibit strong customer service skills and maintain professional relations
  • perform and maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards as established by CDC
  • utilize correct processes to maintain quality products
  • cross train in other culinary positions
  • perform other duties as assigned
