This role of Fitter/Welder is pivotal to the manufacturing, repair, and installation of cranes and lifting equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding structural steel components according to engineering drawings and specifications, ensuring all work meets high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. This employment opportunity offers competitive pay ranging between $25.00 and $30.00 per hour based on experience, reflecting the skill and expertise required for this position.

The position requires a strong foundation in structural steel fabrication and industrial welding, with at least three years of practical experience preferred. The candidate must be proficient in welding techniques including SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), and FCAW in various positions, ensuring superior quality welds. Reading and interpreting blueprints, fabrication drawings, and weld symbols is fundamental to this role, along with the ability to operate various fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.

Attention to detail is critical as the fitter/welder will measure, cut, and prepare materials to meet precise project specifications and tolerances. They will also inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality and accuracy, assist with assembly and testing of crane components, and perform necessary repairs or modifications. Maintaining compliance with OSHA and company safety standards while fostering a clean, organized work environment is essential.

Collaborating effectively with shop personnel, engineers, and supervisors to ensure projects are completed on schedule is part of daily operations. The role also involves adapting to additional duties as assigned, reflecting the dynamic and multifaceted nature of the position.
