Job Description
FOX Rehabilitation is a reputable and clinician-operated practice dedicated to delivering high-quality rehabilitation and wellness services. Known for its evidence-based approach and strong commitment to abolishing ageism, FOX Rehabilitation emphasizes meaningful relationships and client-centered care. The company is well-regarded for its supportive leadership and collaborative environment, where professionals work together to promote independence, wellness, and longevity among older adults. Operating within a community-based framework, FOX Rehabilitation integrates various disciplines including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, and fitness specialization to meet diverse client needs effectively.
FOX Rehabilitation is actively seeking a Fitness Specialist to join their team, specifically to serve older adults at the Sunrise of Sunnyvale Senior Living Community in Sunnyvale, CA. This part-time role, averaging approximately one hour per week, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of seniors through both group exercise classes and personalized training sessions. The position is ideal for individuals who are personal trainers, exercise science graduates, or certified fitness professionals with a passion for healthy aging, fall prevention, and functional fitness tailored to the older population.
As a Fitness Specialist at FOX Rehabilitation, you will become the primary wellness professional embedded within the senior living community, delivering evidence-based programming designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, and overall quality of life for seniors. The role provides a clear pathway for increasing your caseload and expanding your hours over time, supporting ongoing professional growth. You will conduct group exercise classes on Thursdays (from 11:00 to 11:30 am and from 1:30 to 2:00 pm) and have the opportunity to engage clients through one-on-one personal training and partner sessions. This position also requires you to collaborate closely with FOX's skilled therapy team, ensuring a seamless transition for patients moving from rehabilitation to wellness and fitness services.
Successful candidates will drive engagement by building strong relationships with residents, families, and the community. Your efforts in relationship-building and communication will promote participation in wellness programs and expand your client base. Your work with FOX Rehabilitation allows you to travel to patient residences for house calls and potentially cover additional senior living communities as your territory grows.
FOX Rehabilitation fosters an environment where specialists can autonomously manage their programs while benefiting from an interdisciplinary network that includes physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. This culture supports provider-driven decision-making and invests in the growth of each team member. Fitness Specialists at FOX also benefit from a combination of traditional and telehealth service delivery options, which add flexibility and accessibility to their work.
The hourly pay range for this role in California is between $21.50 and $27.50, with opportunities to earn more based on performance and expanded responsibilities. FOX Rehabilitation is an equal opportunity employer that prioritizes diversity and inclusion, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply. Join FOX Rehabilitation and become an integral part of a team dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults through wellness, fitness, and compassionate care.
