Job Description

Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota dedicated exclusively to the care of children. Since its establishment in 1924, this independent and not-for-profit health system has been committed to serving patients from before birth through young adulthood. Children’s Minnesota operates across the Upper Midwest with two free-standing hospitals, nine primary care clinics, multiple specialty clinics, and seven rehabilitation sites, making it a comprehensive hub for pediatric healthcare in the region. Due to its specialized focus on children’s health, the organization is widely recognized in the community as The Kids Experts™ and is regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top children’s hospitals nationally. Beyond clinical care, Children’s Minnesota actively engages the community and maintains a strong online presence with following and updates via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. The organization also stands out for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, recently earning recognition from Modern Healthcare as one of 2023’s Top Diversity Leaders. This prestigious honor highlights the health system's influential role in shaping public policy, driving care delivery improvements, and fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace environment.

Within this esteemed organization, the specialized outpatient nutrition counseling department plays a crucial role in supporting pediatric nutrition health. Responsibilities extend to operating kitchen equipment, managing dishwashing, grill service, and maintaining general cleanliness within the food service areas. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for food service combined with a focus on child health and nutrition. The position requires candidates to obtain or already have a ServSafe Manager or ServSafe Food Handler Certification from the National Restaurant Association within 60 days following hire to ensure food safety standards are maintained. Employees may also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits. Additional compensation is available for night, weekend, or on-call work through shift differentials or premium pay where applicable. The hiring process includes an occupational health assessment, drug screening, background investigation, and compliance with employment eligibility verification laws.
