Job Requirements

  • Minimum six months cook experience in a restaurant, hospital or institutional food service using standard food service equipment
  • Must be able to grill, fry, roast and bake as needed to prepare standard menu items
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English
  • High school diploma or GED and or equivalent experience
  • Availability to work an on-call schedule with variable days and hours
  • Must be available to work alternating weekends

  • Ability to grill, fry, roast, and bake as needed to prepare standard menu items
  • Knowledge of hospital food service operations preferred
  • Culinary arts degree or AA in institutional food preparation preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare conventional and convenience type foods according to production sheets and standing orders
  • Use standard food service equipment including grill, oven, and fryer to prepare menu items
  • Maintain sanitation of food service work areas and patient care stations
  • Replenish food items as needed for tray line, cafeteria, and catering services
  • Follow department safety and sanitation policies strictly
  • Clean and sanitize cooking utensils and dispose of waste properly
  • Requisition or procure food supplies according to established guidelines
