Joining Freudenberg Medical as a First Article Inspector means becoming part of a team dedicated to ensuring quality and precision in the manufacturing process. The role focuses on conducting first article inspections that are critical to product development, process validation, and ongoing quality assurance. This position requires hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), vision systems, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and statistical analysis in a manufacturing setting.

As a First Article Inspector, you will be responsible for programming and operating metrology equipment, interpreting blueprints to identify critical inspections, completing detailed first article inspection reports, and verifying that all documentation is current and comprehensive. Your expertise will directly support the quality and reliability of medical devices, which play a crucial role in patient care and safety. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience as a metrologyst or similar position
  • ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • experience programming and operating metrology equipment such as CMM
  • knowledge of GD&T principles
  • intermediate proficiency in mathematics for tolerance calculation

Job Qualifications

  • 2-year degree or technical school preferred
  • 2 years of experience as a metrologyst or similar position
  • intermediate mathematics proficiency including tolerances calculation

Job Duties

  • Conduct first article inspections using coordinate measuring machines and vision systems
  • program and operate CMM and other metrology equipment for multiple cavity inspection
  • interpret blueprints to identify critical inspection areas

  • verify and assure all documentation is current and detailed
