The Fire Sprinkler Technician role with Summit Fire & Security is a vital position responsible for protecting lives and property by installing, fabricating, assembling, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems and associated piping and fixtures. The position requires a skilled professional equipped with a valid Washington State Sprinkler Fitter Card and strong expertise in pipe systems and valves installation. Under this role, technicians engage in cutting, threading, assembling, modifying, cleaning, and maintaining sprinkler systems, ensuring all installations comply with blueprints and specifications.
This role also involves mentoring and coaching apprentices and helpers, reflecting the company's commitment to workforce development and skill enhancement. Technicians are tasked with maintaining company vehicles as per policy and adapting to varied duties that support the overall fire protection mission. Physical demands include frequent bending, climbing, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions including outdoors with exposure to noise, chemicals, and electrical hazards.

Job Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent
- advanced technical school training or related work experience preferred
- current fire sprinkler license required
- 3-5 years experience installing pipe systems and valves required, 5+ years preferred
- ability to work alone and as part of a team
- basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, ability to multitask, ability to meet project schedules, ability to plan and organize, troubleshooting skills, and ability to train others required
- effective reading, writing and communication skills in English
- ability to operate a computer, tablet and read electronic blueprints required
- experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office preferred
- valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
- ability to comply with drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements
Job Duties
- install pipe systems and valves
- cut, thread, assemble and bond piping and tubes according to specifications
- modify, clean and maintain pipe systems, units and fittings
- remove and replace worn components
- follow blueprints to meet product specifications
- calculate material measurements to verify specifications
- mentor and coach fire sprinkler fitter apprentices and helpers on proper installation techniques
- ensure company provided vehicle is clean and well maintained in accordance with company policies
- other duties may be assigned
