The role of Fire Life Safety Sales Executive within Summit Fire & Security is a critical component of our Service Department team, designed to drive business growth through new customer acquisition and expansion of existing customer relationships. This position focuses on prospecting prospective clients, upselling, and multi-line development of fire inspection and service contracts, working collaboratively with regional leadership, including the Regional Sales Manager, Service Manager, and Service Operations Staff to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

As a Fire Life Safety Sales Executive, you will proactively engage in various sales activities such as cold calling, door-to-door marketing, and strategic sales planning tailored to your assigned territory. A key objective is to build and maintain a dynamic sales pipeline by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities and leveraging conversion chances where installation clients can be transitioned into service customers. You will be responsible for managing all sales activities within your assigned accounts, documenting customer interactions, following up promptly on proposals, and comprehensively understanding company pricing models and contractual terms related to fire inspection agreements.

Participation in industry events, community networking, and staying updated with local fire code regulations are essential to this role, reinforcing our market presence and expertise. Additionally, you will support the Service Manager in renewing contracts with existing clients and continuously enhance your technical knowledge through internal training and collaboration with field personnel.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-5 years sales or fire protection industry experience required
  • 2 years reading electronic blueprints and experience with SalesForce preferred
  • 2 years operating a computer, Microsoft Office required
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees, customers and board or directors
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Must be able to comply with company’s drug and alcohol policy and background screening requirements, which may include customer specific requirements
  • Frequent travel required, up to 50 percent

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years sales or fire protection industry experience
  • 2 years reading electronic blueprints, and experience with SalesForce, preferred
  • 2 years operating a computer, Microsoft Office, required

Job Duties

  • Pro-actively engage in making sales calls to new prospective customers to build the Inspection and Service business by adding new customers to existing portfolio
  • Pro-actively engage in making sales calls to current customers to build the Inspection and Service business by expanding our service offering to existing customers
  • Remain informed of all conversion opportunities by turning construction installation customers into service customers
  • Create and maintain a sufficient pipeline of activity that will ensure meeting sales plan goals assigned by fully understanding that success is a byproduct of generating activity which leads to sales
  • Manage responsibly all sales activity within assigned salesforce account or other sales tracking system by recording both customer and prospect information with sufficient detail while also monitoring days that a proposal remains outstanding
  • Follow up on all pending proposals in a timely manner to explain scope, answer questions, and convey the importance of the proposal with the intended goal to accelerate the award of the sale or further advance the opportunity through the sales cycle
  • Understand company pricing approach to inspection sales using excel or company provided estimating tools
  • Represent the organization at industry meetings such as Building Owners Management Association (BOMA), customer visits, and customer entertainment which may occur outside normal business hours
  • Remain abreast of potential market opportunities through sales calls, networking and other market related information including changes and or updates to local fire code requirements
  • Assist Service Manager and service department with potential re-signs of existing customers whenever necessary
  • Continue to advance industry technical knowledge through internal training, ride along with field personnel and reviewing technical material
  • Expected to work directly with the Branch Manager, Regional Sales Manager, and Service Manager to assess customer relationships and profitability
  • Other duties may be assigned
