As a machinist finisher at Benchmark, you will play an essential role in preparing machined parts through cleaning, deburring, and cosmetic finishing to ensure the highest quality standards before final processing and shipment. This full-time position, located in Concord, California, operates during Shift 1 with a schedule of Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This role involves working with detailed finishing requirements, using a variety of tools and techniques to achieve precise results. You will also assist in training co-workers to enhance operational efficiency and product quality. Compensation for this position ranges between $19.00 and $25.00 USD per hour, reflecting factors such as skills, certifications, experience, and business needs. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of working with related materials and processes
  • Ability to understand blueprints and translate them into efficient work instructions
  • Manual dexterity
  • Ability to handle multiple and frequently changing priorities
  • Good analytical skills and problem-solving ability
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to respond to written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to read, write and perform basic math

Job Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience mentoring or training others

Job Duties

  • Read and understand finishing requirements from routers, drawings and specifications
  • Clean, deburr and complete cosmetic finishing of machined parts utilizing burr knife, file, emery paper, countersink, cratex scotch-brite and other tools and supplies
  • Work under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions, and established procedures
  • Complete required documents and provide supervisor with accurate daily production data
  • Train and assist co-workers with determining best methods to achieve desired results in a timely manner
  • Work at different workstations to meet production requirements
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working order
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Maintain adequate supplies for finishing area
  • Work as a member of a team
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and orderly work environment
  • Actively promote safety, production, and quality standards
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed
  • Participate in a continuous improvement activity
