Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable hotel known for its commitment to providing exceptional hospitality and memorable guest experiences. Within this esteemed organization, the role of the Food Server is a pivotal one, focused on delivering prompt, courteous service to hotel patrons and ensuring guests enjoy a pleasurable dining experience throughout their visit. As a key member of the food and beverage team, the Food Server embodies the hotel’s core values of family-style service, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), and dedication to guest satisfaction. This role typically involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment where excellent customer service, a positive attitude, and a professional appearance are essential. Emphasis is placed on creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests, where attention to detail and effective communication form the foundation of every dining interaction.
The Food Server position requires individuals to greet customers immediately with a smile, inform guests about daily specials, and possess in-depth knowledge of the menu to confidently answer any questions they might have. Timely service is critical, including taking beverage orders and ensuring food orders are accurate before serving. Servers are expected to monitor tables attentively, promptly clear empty plates, and maintain clean and well-prepared sections and side stations. Additionally, preparing silverware neatly at the table and keeping dining areas free from debris are part of the responsibilities. Employees in this role must uphold the hotel's mission and vision through exemplary behavior, while also embracing the organization’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This position involves significant customer interaction and collaboration with coworkers, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork. Flexibility in scheduling is necessary, as shifts may include days off, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. The position also requires physical stamina, as servers must carry trays weighing up to 15 pounds and lift bus tubs up to 40 pounds. Given the multi-faceted nature of this role, ideal candidates will bring at least six months of previous food server experience, be able to communicate effectively in English, and maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times.
The Food Server contributes greatly to the guest’s overall dining experience by delivering service excellence with a friendly and approachable demeanor. This role is crucial to the hotel’s goal of fostering a fun and safe environment for internal and external guests alike, ensuring that every dining event meets the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The organization prioritizes employee well-being and supports a culture of collaboration and respect, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and customer service to grow and thrive.
