The role of a Server at Cedarfield is a vital position within their dining services department. This part-time position requires a commitment of 20 hours per week, typically operating from 4 pm to 9 pm, with some shifts on weekends and holidays. The server will be assigned a specific section in the dining room and will be responsible for delivering all aspects of dining service to residents. Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Extensive walking, pulling, pushing, carrying, bending, stooping and standing
  • Exposure to heat and cold in a food production environment
  • Must be neat and clean at all times
  • Flexibility in scheduling as working evenings, weekends, holidays and during inclement weather is required
  • Exposure to sights, sounds, odors found in a typical healthcare environment including persons with dementia
  • Willingness to comply with Pinnacle Living’s vaccination policy including annual flu vaccination

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year of experience serving tables in an upscale dining venue preferred
  • Knowledge of dining room procedures, presentation, service, bussing, customer relations, and sanitation
  • Comfortable using personal computers and handheld devices
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
  • Ability to read, write and communicate using the English language
  • Ability to taste, smell and see with or without corrected vision
  • Comfortable working with older adults
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, performing multiple tasks while maintaining professionalism

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the resident dining satisfaction
  • Place food orders and deliver food and drink to residents in proper fine dining fashion
  • Clearing courses and perform cleaning of assigned dining areas
  • Participate in set-up and breakdown of special function events
  • Attend all mandatory in-service training sessions
  • Assist with the training and development of other servers as requested by management
  • Assist in restocking and sanitation of wait stations and service areas used during service
  • Enter food and beverage orders into the system used to communicate with the kitchen
  • Maintain the highest level of productivity and professionalism
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
