The Server role at 42 Bar and Table is crucial in maintaining these standards. This position focuses on providing exceptional service by delivering food and beverages to guests in a professional and courteous manner. Servers also play an important role in preparing for catered functions, ensuring tables are properly set and that all dishes, utensils, and food or beverage items are placed accurately and promptly. Responsibilities extend beyond guest interaction to include maintaining cleanliness and adhering to food safety practices. Servers are expected to serve meals and beverages by course, respond quickly and attentively to customer requests, and clear dishes at appropriate times to ensure a seamless dining experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • one year of server experience
  • knowledge of food, wine, spirits, beer, and skills associated with fine dining

  • ability to work a varying schedule including nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Serves meals and beverages in a professional and courteous manner
  • removes dishes when appropriate
  • responds promptly to requests from guests while remaining customer service oriented
  • prepares food serving area, to include properly setting tables and related furniture for special functions
  • wipes and polishes silverware
  • complies with all policies and standards and procedures applicable to the position, including attendance, time, quality control, and other standards
