The Promontory Club is currently seeking a highly motivated and professional Food and Beverage Fine Dining Server to join its team at The Hearth Grill, a relaxed yet elegant fine dining steakhouse that specializes in offering an elevated beef and seafood menu. This role is vital within the dining experience at Promontory, where servers are expected to deliver exceptional service characterized by friendliness, professionalism, and adherence to the highest standards that reflect the overall promise of the community’s fine dining establishments. The ideal candidate will embody a positive attitude and be a team player committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere where members feel like they are in a home away from home. This position requires a keen understanding of modern food trends, as well as extensive knowledge of wines and spirits, to provide knowledgeable recommendations and enhance the dining experience.

The Food and Beverage Fine Dining Server is responsible for engaging with members in a professional manner, taking precise and thorough food and beverage orders, and ensuring all dietary preferences and restrictions are carefully communicated to kitchen staff. Delivering prepared meals with attention to quality and guest satisfaction is paramount, as is managing payment transactions efficiently. Additionally, maintaining a clean and organized dining environment contributes to the upscale ambiance valued by members and guests. This position demands the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting, maintain a high level of professionalism at all times, and adhere to all safety and security policies. Work hours may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age for serving alcoholic beverages
  • must have or be able to acquire a state of Utah food handler's permit within two weeks of employment
  • must have a recognized alcohol server training card by the Utah Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (UDABC)
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • previous experience in a casual restaurant environment preferred
  • ability to work various hours including nights, weekends and holidays
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift 25 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • willingness to work at any food and beverage outlet
  • must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • must have or be able to acquire a State of Utah Food Handler's Permit within two weeks of employment
  • must have a recognized alcohol server training card by the Utah Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control (UDABC)
  • must be at least 21 years of age for serving alcoholic beverages
  • previous experience in a casual restaurant environment preferred
  • experience working with POS software (Northstar) preferred
  • strong communication and organization skills
  • high attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism

Job Duties

  • Always have a positive attitude and be a team-oriented person
  • greet the members in a friendly and professional manner developing relationships and familiarities with the members
  • make our members home away from home
  • demonstrate knowledge of modern food trends, wines and spirits
  • be familiar with the fine dining steps of service
  • solicit the member's food and beverage order, make suggestions and explain choices as needed
  • communicate special requests, dietary and allergic conditions to the kitchen staff
  • deliver prepared food and beverages to the guest's table ensuring satisfaction with quality of the meal
  • follow-up with guests concerning served menu items and any food issues
  • prepare and present the check, performing necessary cashier service to process payment
  • maintain cleanliness and neatness of guest's table
  • help maintain a clean and professional dining floor
  • complete opening, closing and side work efficiently and thoroughly
  • follow all company safety and security policies and procedures
  • report accidents, injuries and unsafe work practices to management
  • complete safety training and certifications
  • perform other duties as assigned to ensure a positive dining experience
