As part of Cherokee Federal, a collective of tribally owned federal contracting companies, CSS is committed to delivering personalized approaches to solving clients' toughest challenges. By fostering an environment where employees can apply their skills to high-impact projects, CSS offers a unique opportunity for professionals looking to make a meaningful contribution in their respective fields.

The Financial Investigator role at CSS involves a crucial responsibility in supporting financial compliance and investigative efforts within the organization and for its government clients. In addition to competitive compensation, the role comes with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401K, and other potential benefits.

A Financial Investigator plays a pivotal role in assisting government attorneys, agents, and agencies by analyzing financial and other relevant records to identify assets subject to seizure, attachment, or available to satisfy court-ordered restitution and fines. This investigative work demands a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret complex financial transactions. The investigator conducts thorough research using various resources such as public records, law enforcement databases, and internet tools to track assets and uncover financial misconduct.

Financial Investigators assist in tracing the flow of illicit proceeds from unlawful activities, identifying violations of laws related to money laundering and other offenses under Title 18. They work closely with attorneys during pre-seizure planning to determine asset values and reveal any encumbrances. This position also involves reviewing financial records to evaluate debtors' ability to pay restitution and fines, conducting witness interviews, and negotiating settlements in civil cases.

An ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal investigation, preferably with experience in military or intelligence environments, along with a specialized understanding of complex financial investigations related to criminal or drug-related cases. The ability to obtain or possess a Public Trust clearance is mandatory. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, advanced proficiency in MS Office, and the aptitude to respond effectively to various situations are essential. The candidate should be familiar with office procedures, security practices, and passing pre-employment qualifications conducted by Cherokee Federal.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional with a passion for investigative work and a commitment to justice and compliance.
