Job Description
Ryder Last Mile is a leading logistics company specializing in final mile delivery services, boasting a comprehensive network of carriers that provide essential delivery and installation solutions for a wide range of commodities. As part of Ryder System, Inc., a company with a long-standing reputation in the transportation and logistics industry, Ryder Last Mile leverages its expertise to handle complex delivery challenges with precision and efficiency. The company is committed to offering superior customer experiences by ensuring timely deliveries, professional installation services, and flexible contracting opportunities for carriers to join its expanding network. Known for its robust infrastructure and industry leadership, Ryder Last Mile caters to multiple markets, providing solutions primarily focused on last mile delivery, where the product reaches the consumer’s doorstep with care and professionalism.
We are currently looking for professional carrier teams to join our network for several exciting route opportunities, each centered on delivering and installing various commodities in specific regional hubs. Currently, Ryder Last Mile is hiring for three distinct routes, with candidates considered for a route based on availability and geographic location. These routes include the Edison Hub, specializing in the delivery and installation of furniture, appliances, and complex appliances; the Dayton route, which focuses on Williams-Sonoma furniture delivery and installation; and the Philadelphia Hub, covering deliveries and installations of furniture, appliances, and exercise equipment. Each route offers unique opportunities to work with reputable products in a growing market segment.
This contracting role requires the operation of two-person teams who can provide white glove delivery, meaning the delivery goes beyond simply dropping off items. It involves in-home delivery and professional assembly or installation, ensuring the customer receives complete and quality service. Compensation is competitive and depends on the number of daily routes completed, providing a flexible earning potential for contractors who can manage their schedules effectively. As independent contractors, carriers will operate their own businesses, maintaining compliance with strict licensing, insurance, and regulatory requirements set forth by Ryder. This model benefits carriers who have entrepreneurial drive and seek to grow their delivery businesses within an established network.
Contractors enjoying the benefits offered by Ryder Last Mile include weekly settlements for prompt payment processing, 7-day payment terms to maintain cash flow, and discounts on Ryder truck rentals which help reduce operational costs. Additionally, contractors benefit from an established customer base, providing consistent routes with dependable delivery volumes, and there is high growth potential within these roles, making this participation attractive for business expansion. The company’s focus on white glove services emphasizes the importance of customer satisfaction and high-quality delivery execution, which enhances brand reputation and customer loyalty.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced carriers with a strong background in final mile installation services, skilled in handling complex product deliveries and installations in customers’ homes. Applicants should have the necessary DOT and MC authority, operate a clean 26-foot white box truck with a lift gate free of advertisements, and demonstrate strong compliance with insurance and operational standards. Background checks and motor vehicle record checks are conducted to ensure trust and reliability. Operating as an LLC or corporation is required, reflecting the professional business structure needed to manage contracts effectively.
Overall, this position with Ryder Last Mile provides a compelling opportunity for carriers to join a top-tier logistics provider that values quality service, business growth, and partnership strength. With solid support, competitive pay, and a track record of established routes and customers, contractors can grow their delivery businesses in a dynamic and rewarding field.
